Tina, who’s also the mother of “Cranes in the Sky” singer Solange Knowles, 38, went on to talk with the outlet about the important role of mothers in their kids lives.

“Mothers take on the role of being behind the scenes and doing what they can to support,” she said. “It’s nice to be recognized for that.”

“It never ends, which is the best part,” she added. “I’m still a mom. I’m 71 years old, and my kids are grown, but they still call me first and it’s the best feeling in the world.”

While Knowles is filled with loads of wisdom, she admitted on the Jennifer Hudson Show that her granddaughter doesn’t come to her for advice. The fashion designer spoke about how proud she is of her daughters. She also opened up to host Jennifer Hudson about the ways her granddaughter Blue Ivy takes after her and how her future is bright.

Knowles said that Blue Ivy usually goes to her mother for advice.

“Her and her mother are really tight and so they don’t need me to give much advice,” Knowles told Hudson, before she added, “They tell me to mind my business.”
